Pandemic Planning Resources

An influenza pandemic occurs when a new strain of the influenza virus emerges and spreads around the world infecting a large number of people. People often have no natural immunity to this “novel” strain of influenza which can spread easily and rapidly from person to person.

The Australian Government, State and local governments, GP organisations and other key groups are working to ensure Australia is prepared to deal with any possible pandemic influenza.
