All practices will receive a pack of promotional materials from CSL to support vaccination of "at risk" patients with influenza. If you would like additional materials, CSL has provided a "Fax back for free flu materials".

The History of Vaccines

The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, USA has launched a new educational website called The History of Vaccines http://www.historyofvaccines.org.

The interactive site was set up to increase public knowledge and discuss how vaccines, toxoids, and passive immunity work.

The site, as the name suggests, also provides information on the history of vaccines and some of the issues vaccines and vaccine manufacturers have faced in the past. Although the site is based on US Immunisation information, it provides a multitude of resources that can be useful to healthcare professionals in Australia.

The interactive sections of the site provide a fun and informative place for the general public to access accurate and up to date information on the effect of infectious diseases on the body, how vaccines interact with the immune system, how vaccines have been developed in the past and how they play an integral role in maintaining the health of the population.
